     Clinical Laboratory Manager, Veterinary
    ZNLabs is a new, innovative and well-funded, full-service veterinary clinical diagnostic laboratory. We are focused on revolutionizing the reference laboratory space for companion animals. We are a team of friendly, motivated and highly collaborative business and veterinary professionals looking for a top tier laboratory manager to join our growing crew. This role will be part of the team leading the implementation and start-up of our central hub laboratory adjacent to the UPS (United Parcel Service) World Port, in lovely Louisville, Kentucky.

    Description of Duties and Responsibilities
    The Lab Manager will provide leadership, communications and support of all operational activities of the central veterinary diagnostic laboratory in Louisville, KY. Responsibilities and position details include - although may not be limited to - the following:
    * Expertise in clinical laboratory operations with comprehensive knowledge of high throughput hematology, chemistry, immunoassay, urinalysis and related analyzers/diagnostics.
    * Direct supervision and oversight of all day-to-day operations, including laboratory staff, equipment, facility and materials.
    * Ability to operate, troubleshoot and supervise the use of all clinical laboratory equipment.
    * Demonstrated ability to build and develop a clinical laboratory team, including space build-out, hiring, scheduling and the design/implementation of technician training programs.
    * Strong IT and LIS experience and general high comfort level with computer systems, technology and equipment interfaces.
    * Experience with client (veterinary hospital) communications and efficiency in addressing client (user) requests and concerns.
    * This is a senior-level position with broad responsibilities and the latitude to make decisions and establish work-flow priorities. The successful candidate will report directly to the COO and CMO.
    * Familiarity with standard QC/QA programs and ability to design, implement and manage SOP's to ensure highest clinical (veterinary laboratory) standards are met.
    * Maintenance of a safe, mindful working environment.
    Knowledge and Skills
    * Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
    * Robust organizational and time management skills.
    * Experience in the veterinary field preferred. Other experience considered as applicable.
    * Ability to work independently and confidently make decisions.
    * Flexible schedule and ability to respond to the demands of a 7-day-a-week startup required, including nights.
    * 10+ years of experience in laboratory operations including minimum 5 years in a supervisory/management capacity.
    * A Bachelor degree in a scientific discipline preferred.
    * Manufacturer training in clinical laboratory equipment preferred (eg, Beckman Coulter, Siemens, Sysmex, Horiba, etc).
